The topic of the program was "Camouflaging in Nature”—parts taken by Mary Roselle Sears, Cliria- tine AdaniB, Mary Chandler, and Su san Rudisill. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS The Intern*tSonal Relations Club met Tuesday night, Novembev 6th. The Topic for discussion was “The Pertinent Topics in Germany aud Russia.” A book review 7'he Soviet UJiion by Maxwell was given by Ann Bradsher. There was a general dis cussion on some national and Inter national problems with ali members contributing. TEACHERS ASSOCIATION HELD AT HUGH MORSON (Continued from page one), held during the convention, on Fri day .at 2:30 o’clock and Saturday at 11 o'clock. The superintendents and -principals held one dinner meeting and the classroom teachers another ou Friday evening. On Friday after noon the teachers in the different de partments met for discussion. Dr Helen Price, of Meredith presided at the session of Latin Teachers. The second of the general sessions, at 11 o’clock on Saturday closed the con vention. Miss Brewer Entertains Faculty ot House Warming THE COLTON ENGLISH CLUB The -Colton English Club met Fri day, November 9th, with Professor I. V. Ladu of the English Department at State College as speaker for the evening. Professor Ladu who Is teacher of Modern Literature, spoke on “Tile Movements in Modern Litera ture.” Saturday night, October 27, Miss Ellen Brewer entertained in honor of the faculty with a house warming at her newly built cabin, “The Cedar Chest,” situated just off the Lassiter’s Mill Road. The cabin, a delightful, rustic affair, was planned entirely by Miss Brewer. The faculty enjoyed a delicious out door supper cooked on a large stone stove built in the yard. Miss Welch aided Miss Brewer In the prepara tion. After supper, Miss Carolyn Pea coclc told an original story in which the name of each nieniber of the faculty was cleverly worded in. She ended with a suggestion of a shower which, to the complete surprise of Mias Brewer, waa given her. She was presented with miscellaneous gifts to be used in the cabin. B. S, U, Notes I Beginning Monday, November Blh, and ending Saturday, November 17th, the delegates of the Baptist Student Conference are speaking at morning watch on "Echoes from Memphis." All the members oC the Meredith Student Body and Faculty are urged to attend these devotiouals. They are both helpful and inspirational. For the second time the students of each hall gathered Sunday Night in their own social rooms for Vespers. A large number of girls were present ’ Vesper Service with a talk by Miss World,’’ the key verse being "That the World May Know." Sunday evening at (i:15 o'clock— Olivet College haa instituted this fall a new system which does away with oral and written quizzes, text-book learning, stereotyped recitations In classrooms and final examinations. Under the new system the student will be allowed to pursue hia studies In practically any way he sees fit, under the guidance of a faculty tutor.
