Yes, her name is Nancy Gates and in high school, they tell us slic was secretary of the freslimati and sophomore classes. And that’s not all! She was vice oresidoht of tlic Pep Club, in Hi-Y, Olee Club, Dramatics Club, and Student Council. We’ve also lieard tell that she loves to eat (but not spinach), likes tennis and football, nnd when asked about favoi’ite color, quickly replies “blink” (a quandary between blue and pink). And oli yes, she’s slightly interested in— Nancy is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Gates, and her mother is an alumna of Meredith. She is not very tall, but oh so friendly and nice. ■^P. S. He’s at Carolina. B.S«U. Chapel Programs The B.S.tl, has sponsored two chapel programs recently. The first Was last Friday a»ul dealt with church membership. Since it came juat before the two “Join the Church Sundays,” the girls were urged to bring their church letters to Ealeigli and unite Avith the church of tlieir choice. Dean Davig spoke on “Wliat Church Membership Should Mean to the College Student.” Virginiii Ayera spoke on “Wliy I Brought my Cliurch Letter to Baleigh,” and then Elizabeth Shelton spoke on “Why I am Bringing my Letter to Kalcigb this Year.” Peggy Haywood presicled. The second program eanic on Tuesday and dealt with stewardship. Mrs. Carl Townsen{| was the speaker. Eiivelopes are being pro vided by the B.S.U. so tliat each girl will have tlie same typo of envelope in which to make her offering.
