Meredith Places Third
In Play Day
A Play Day was held at Salem
College in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina, on Saturday, February
21st, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The activity of the day was a
round-robin series of basketball
games which included the fol
lowing six colleges; Salem, Mars
Hill, Guilford, Greensboro,
Meredith, and Women’s College.
Meredith College placed third
of the six by winning two, los
ing two, and tying one game.
Those winning first and second
place honors, respectively, were
Mars Hill and Women’s College.
Defeating Greensboro and
Guilford, Meredith was in turn
defeated by both Mars Hill and
Salem College, and tied by
Women’s College.
Those playing the forward
positions for Meredith College
were Eunice Andrews, Betty
Jean Shuler, Faye Nichols, Na
omi Pugh, and Catherine Car

Yet in spite of the bigness of
the place, Martha is able to hold

Those are the times that her!

The party was brought to a
close by more singing.
Marty Davis served as chair
man of the entertainment com

as adviser to the student com
