MARRY CHRISTMAS To German Class
Maroon and Gold, Elon College.
Most people look for some
thing all day and never find it.
That something they’re looking
for is the time they planned to
use yesterday today, and the
time they won’t find until to
morrow when today will be
yesterday and tomorrow, today.
And this:
More than 75 babies were
dragged into a baby show in
Florida. It was a crying shame.

Christmas tree will give the hint
that holidays are just around the
corner, and a program of special
Christmas music will add to the
gaity of the occasion. The carols
sung by the students as they are
filled with the excitement of
events to follow will also add to
the prevailing spirit.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
A Merry Christmas, friends I The wish
Is strong and deep and true,
To bear our greetings on this day
To every one of you!
A Merry Christmas, friends! And may
It ring with love and cheer,
A Christmas of such gladness
To last a 12-month year!
The merriest of Christmases,
A day to lift and bless
Your hours with warmth and welcome.
Your hearts with happiness!

“My girls have to visit my
school one year, beginning after
the Easter holidays and ending
the following March,” writes
Mrs. Marta Eberle, head of the
German school adopted by the
Meredith Home Economics Club.
“These girls,” she continues,
“have eight cooking lessons, ten
needlework, four domestic, two
infant, one mathematics, one
gymnastics, and one sanitation
class each week.” She states that
equipment and supplies for these
classes are very limited. Further
news of conditions in Germany
was received by Dorrie Atkins,
freshman home economics stu
dent from Raleigh, who read a
letter from a friend in Germany
during the November meeting of
the club.
For the November meeting of
the Home Economics Club, the
girls met in the clothing labora
tory to pack boxes for the
German class. Gifts were com
prised of bags made from gay
bath cloths filled with stationery,
candy, combs, pads, and pencils,
and individual gifts from the
