Next year’s freshman class checked in Friday and were escorted to their rooms, where there was a constant inter change of questions — giving Mere dith the “third degree.” The early Saturday morning sun looked on the sleepy sophomore faces as they sang to the Queen of May, Sara Gwyn Bryan. The sopho mores presented her with a bouquet at breakfast. The annual May Day horse show began at 1:00 p.m. During the show, a three-week old colt bucked into the ring, wanting to steal the prizes from the tall, shiny horses. The Queen and her court marched into the auditorium at 4:00 p.m. She was then entertained by the May Day dancers, who were un> der the direction of Mrs. Frances Stevens. They took the audience on a trip around the world, including Russia, Spain, France, India, and the United States. , On Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m..
