Hlanagemeiit workshop planned

The continuing education
office, directed by Dr. Sarah
Lemmon, has announced
upcoming activities for the
semester.
The workshop “Iden
tifying My Management
Potential” will be held at the
North Carolina State Faculty
Club for a business 110 class. It
will be held by Dr. Charles
Stewart and Mrs. Jacqueline
Beza. The same workshop wUl
be held for the other business
110 class on Nov. 21 and will be
led by Dr. Dorothy Preston
and Mrs. Evelyn Simmons.
Workshops in January
will be open to all students.

A symposium entitled
“What Future For My
Generation?” will be held
March 27-30, 1978. The sym
posium activities will include
both a keynote and wrap-up
speaker, films and exhibits.
Seminars will substitute

The newly organized art
club is sponsoring an art show
and sale to be held Saturday,
Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
at the Elva Bryan Mclver
Amphitheater.
Spaces measuring 8 feet x
10 feet will be available to
Meredith students and faculty
free of charge. Other area
students and faculty may rent
display spaces for $1.50, and
area artists and craftsmen
may rent spaces for $4.
More than one space may
be rented, and exhibitors must
supply their own props.
A program will be
distribute at the art fair
giving each exhibiting artist’s
name, media and location on
the amphitheater island.
All interested exhibitors
should complete the
necessary application from
the Meredith College Art Club,
Meredith College, Raleigh,
N.C. 27611 by Oct. 13 or call
Lou Bame or Jennifer Hunter,
for further information.
In case of rain, the fair
will be postponed until a later
date.

Senior Record Check
Registrar John Hiott will
be checking seniors’ records
to make sure they will have
fulfilled the general
educational and specific
major course requirements
and will have completed a
total of 124 semester hours
with a quality point ratio of
at least 2.0 by graduation.
Mr. Hiott will complete
this check before the drop-add
period of the spring semester
and report any problems to
the faculty advisors, who will
then work with the student in
scheduling to meet any
remaining requirements.
A student who anticipates
a problem in meeting
requirements or is uncertain
about her credits may make
an appointment with Mr. Hiott
now to review her record.
Abortion Symposium
The Meredith psychology
club will be sponsoring a
symposium on abortion Oct.
19 at 8 p.m. in 103 Joyner. One
of the speakers will be Ms.
Betty Boland, R.N., from the
Wake County chapter of Right
to Life, a non-sectarian, non
profit organization.
A speaker with a different
viewpoint has not been chosen
yet, but will be announced
next week. The psychology
club cordially invites all
students and faculty members
to attend.
Meeting Rescheduled
The home economics
meeting scheduled for Friday.
Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. has been
rescheduled for Friday, Oct.
21, at 10 a.m. in the Hunter
home economics parlor. A
crafts demonstration will be
held by Ms. Pat Brewer, who
is associated with the Mouse
and Mushroom craft store at
North Hills shopping center.
Koffee Klatch Supports
The “Koffee Klatch,” a
part of the non-resident
student organization, is a
support group for women who
have been away from school
for some time.
The group assists non
residents students in sol\^g
registration difficulties,
borrowing or finding used
books, using the library,
career planning, dealing with
sick children when classes
must be met, and finding a
friend with your same in-
The first meeting of the
“Koffee Klatch” was held on
Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. in the
President’s Dining Room in
Belk Dining Hall. Students
had an opportunity to become
acquainted with each other
and a chance to discover
where interests, talents, and
concerns of others lie.
The next “Koffee Klatch”
will meet on Friday, Oct. 21.
Tliere will be a non
resident student meeting on
Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. in the Cate
Center Fireside Lounge. This
will be the monthly business
meeting with announcements
concerning all day students.
Trip to Spain offered
The Meredith Spanish
department, with the advice
of the American Institute of
Foreign Studies, is sponsoring
a summer pro^am in Spain,
June 24 - July 26, 1978. The
total round-trip cost of the
program from New York is
$1195.
Included in the trip, with
expenses paid, is a tour of
central Spain, visiting such
cities as Segovia, Avila,
Toledo, and Madrid.
Up to five Meredith credit
hours will be earned by
participating students. A
member of the Meredith
foreigh language department
will accompany the group for
fuU-time counseling and help
the students earn credit.

completed by Nov. 1, 1977.
