CAMP LOGAN, located on Lake Hartwell, South Carolina, seeks clinical camp counselors to work with emotionally handicapped children. The camp provides therapeutic treatment for the children and works on solving individual problems and developing social skills. Applicants must have at le^t 1 year college and enjoy working with children. Em ployment will be from early June to late July (6-7 weeks), and counselors will be required to attend a pre-camp training week. Salary is ^5.00 a week plus room and board. Interviews are required after initial applications have been received. Contact Mrs. Becky BATTER UP Softball season for the Meredith Angels was of ficially opened Tuesday, March 18, when Meredith traveled to Mt. Olive. The Angels open the season with their first home game against Wingate, Thursday, March 20 at 3:00. Team members for the 1980 season include: Fay Bryant, Jane Campbell, Betsy Crump, Helena Flannagan, Hope Huffman, Amy Men denhall, Jo Pusser, Sharon Sawyer, Linda Smith, Darla Stephenson, Myrtle Turner, and Donna Willette. The softball team is coached by Dr. Jack Huber and assistant Marie Cham- blee. The team encourages everyone to support this aspect of the Meredith community. TENNIS TEAM SELECTED Members of the Merdith’s Tennis Team for the 1980 Spring season are: Sophomore Lynn Hurt and Freshman Manning Winslow who are both new to the team. Senior Tammy Summers, Sophomore Alisa Robertson, Senior Martha Boisseau who is also new to the team. Fresh man Julie Hennis, Senior Lee Britt who is returning after a semester’s absence. Junior Lynn Kornegay, Sophomore Margaret Volney, Sophomore Cindy Terrill, Sophomore Lynn Bryan, and Junior Lee Britt. The tennis team is coached by Mrs. J. The 'Town of Chapel Hill is now taking applications for 9 positions - Pool Manager, Assistant Manager, Bath House Attendant, Cashier, 3 Lifeguards, and lifeguard- cashier-attendant. Positions start May 20 and end on September 1 (Labor Day). Pay ranges from $3.10 to $4.25 hour. The National Institute for the Food Service Industry offers a scholarship program to encourage and assist students in obtaining an education in the field of food service management. Scholarships are awarded competitively to students who have shown significant academic and nonacademic accomplishment. 7 scholar ships are awarded annually in amounts of up to $2,6(X). The Brooklyn program em phasizes case work and community relations, with some research. The Washington program em phasizes issue-oriented work, including legislative research and correspondence. HEINZ SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - Seven scholarships, in an amount up to a maximum of $2,600 each, awarded annually. ($1,300 for the junior year and $1,300 for the senior year.) To be eligible, an applicant niust be committed to a full-time educational program leading to a management career in the food service industry.
