PAGE 4 THE TWIG APRIL 3. 1980 Meredith’s Tennis Team Undefeated by Darla Stephenson The Meredith Tennis Team has opened the 1980 Spring season with an im pressive 4-0 record against opponents such as Salem, Queens, St. Augustine’s, and Campbell. Three of these wins have been overwhelming 9-0 victories. On Tuesday, March 18th, the Meredith squad met Salem on the latter’s home court, defeating the home team 9-0. Meredith’s Lynn Hurt was victorious 6-2, 6-0 Manning Winslow 6-7, 6-2, 6-1 Tammy Summers 6-3, 6-3 Alisa Robertson 6-3, 6-3 Martha Boisseau 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 and Julie Hennis with 5-7, 6-2, 7- 6 scores. Merdith was also devastating in doubles play when Hurt and Winslow teamed up to win 8-0; Sum mers and Robertson for a 8-4 victory; and Boisseau teamed with Senior Lee Britt, winning 8- 2. New Information on Testing GMAT - The GMA Council has decided that the GMAT program will comply with the N.Y. State test disclosure law on a world-wide basis. Can didates taking the GMAT may now request to see the test and answers after the test scores are released. There is a fee for the service. A copy of the test that was given in January has been sent to the Office of Career Services and is available for any student to study. Friday, March 21, the Angels were on the road again when they met and skunked Queens College. All singles were impressively decided in 2 sets. Hurt with scores of 6-2, 6-2; Winslow with 6-3, 6-0; Summers 6-1, 63; Robertson 64,63; Boisseau with 61, 6-0; and Hennis 61, 60. Doubles play was similarly dominated by the Angels with Winslow and Hurt teaming for an 8-0 win; Summers and Robertson with a 8-4 victory; and Boisseau and Britt won with a score of 8-1. Meredith hosts St. Augustine’s St. Augustine was the Angels’ next victim. Aided by a home court advantage, Meredith took the ■ 7-2 overall score . freshman Manning Winslow, senior Tammy Summers, sophomore Alisa Robertson, Martha Boiseau, and fresh man Julie Hennis represented Meredith in singles play. Doubles consisted of Winslow and Boisseau, Britt and Hennis, and Cindy Terrill and Margaret Volney. Meredith meets Campbell The Meredith team travelled to Buies Creek on Thursday, March 27 and defeated the Campbell tennis team with a 9-0 score. Hurt, Winslow, Summers^ Robertson, Boisseau, and Britt - all won for Meredith in singles competition. Winslow and Boisseau, Robertson and Summers,and Britt and Lynn Bryan were victorious as well in doubles. The tennis team will host Salem College on Thursday, April 3.
