The Parks & Recreation Department’s Special Populations program has scheduled Wake County Fall Special Olympics for 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Cary Elementary School. Volunteers are needed to assist with this special athletic program designed to contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of mentally retarded children. This year the Residence Hall Board has initiated a new and vital group in the campus’ communication network, to be known as the Residence Hall Council. This council consists of the dorm president, vice- presidents, R.A., plus the added component of a student representative from each hall. Improving communications, publicizing events, and contributing feedback and fresh ideas are among the responsibilities of this group. In organizing this council, the RHB felt that the quality of residence life could be im proved through more effective programming and better communication.
