FEBnUARY21, 1983 THE TWIQ ^PAQE 3 Judi Board minutes Aluilina© I16WS The Judicial Board met on January 17, 1983. The Board heard two cases concerning plagiarism. Both girls were placed on academic probation for the rest of the yeaa'. On January 24, 1983, the Board heard two cases concerning a violation of the freshman curfew, entering a residence i^i by unauthorized means, and having a male in the residence hail after closing hours. The first girl was placed on probation for the spring semester 1983 and for the fail semester 1983. This probation excluded her from all extra, curricular activities. ITie second girl who was found not guilty of violating freshman curfew was given a two-week campus. The Board met again on January 3!, 1983. TTie case concerned falsification of college records. An up perclassman t>ad signed in using another person's name. She was given a penalty of a one-week campus. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. *n>e Judicial Board met on February 7,1983 in 105 Joyner. The Board heard a case con cerning two violations of the Honor Code-breaking a campus and violating protiatlon. The Honor Code states that anyone violating probation shall be suspended. The Board voted for a penalty of suspension for the duration of the spring semester of 1983. Jones has been promoted to assistant vice president of Business Loan Operations by the Board of Directors at BB&T. She is assigned to the Banking ^vision at the Home Office In Wilson. She joined the Management D^opment Pro gram at BB&T In 19^ and was assigned to the Audit Depart ment. In 1979 she was named manager of Business Loan Operations. After completing; S^th' Lenoir High School, she graduated cum laude from Meredith College where she earned a Bac^lor of Arts degree in mathematics. She Is a member of the Greenville Junior Woman’s Club and past memb^ of the Wilson JuniorWoman’sCiub where she fonnerly held the offices of ;ti«surer and board member. She Is also a former member of the Wilson Young DemocrMs. She is married to Tom Jones, a native of Wilson, and attends OsdcmcKit Baptist Churdi in Greenville. Bryan Young Artist Auditions. At the age of 28, Ms Gok cen has won a string of national and regional competitions, including the Ima Hogg Young Artist Auditions, the' Flagler Matthews Auditions, the North American Young Artist competition , and the Hudson Valley Young Artist Com petition. She has appeared in concert with the Aspen Philhanronia, the Basel Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, and the Juiiliard Orchestra, and as solo recitalist at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C., Phillips Gallery in Washington, D.C., and In Boston, New York and Carolina Arts other major American cities. In 1975 Ms. Gokcen toured Peru under the auspices of the U.S.State D^rtment. In addition to solo ap pearances, Ms. Gokcen has performed .chamber music at the Hindemith Festival in Oregon, the Easterm Carolina Arts Festival in Greenville, N.C., the Chamber Music-West Festlral in San Francisco, and in New Yot1 City. Selma Gokcen cun^ntly resides in Greenville, N.C. She is. a member of the- music faculty of East Carolina University.
