The Place To Go For Action
by Martha Hamlet
Chairman of Student Life
When you, a Meredith College stu
dent, have a concern, where can you go?
If your concern involves a change in
legislation, the Senate would be the
appropriate place to voice your sugges
tion. However,, if your concern involves
an aspect of Meredith College life. Stu
dent Life would probably be the suitable
place.
Composed of the dass presidents,
the association presidents, a Non-Resi
dent Organization representative, an
international Student representative, a
WINGS representative, an Association
for Black Awareness r^)resentativs, two
Menribers-at-Large, two faculty represen
tatives, the Director of Student Acti
vities, the Dean of Students, the Vice
President for Student Development, the
six Resident Directors, a Secretwy, and a
diairperson. Student Life is a committee
whose main objective is to examine life
at Meredith College and make recom
mendations to improve It.
Past achievements of the committee
involve the creation of Le Greenhouse as
an alternative to the dining hall, ttie in
stallment of Meredith's own phone
system to cut the high cost of telephone
installations, and the landscaping
around campus for beautification. Be
sides tar^ible achievements. Student
Life tries to better relationships between
various groups on campus such a» stu
dents and security.
Through reeding the TWIG, I can see
that there are some valid concerns on
campus invotvi^ all aspects of ^redjth
life. In addition to voicir>§ th^ con
