As soon as she walks into our room she turns on the stereo and raids the frig. Between the music and the munching she's driving me crazy. We’re only five months into a two-year lease. I don't know If lean make It. What's a poor girl to do? — YAWNING Deer Yawning: An early birthday present is in order. A set of headphones with a cord long enough to reach tf>e refrigerator should get the message across. Pleasant dreams. Dear Steven; I’m a member of a conservative campus group, and would like to sug gest putting an end to the practice of playing loud music out of dorm room windows. To tell you the truth. It's not the decibels that bother me, it's the obnoxious, vulgar, heavy metal lyrics and sounds I can't stand. Maybe a law allowing only certain kinds of music would wcwk. What do you think? — EARPLUGS Dear Earplugs: I think you’re a jerk. That’s not the way it works in this country. Dear Steven: When I moved into town last March the first thing I did was transfer my personal checking account from my hometown bank. I had no complaints about the senice I was getting until I received my first bank statement. It contained numerous charges for items the banker told me were free. It’s six months later and I still can't get the n>ess straightened out. It’s me and my hundred bucks against a big bank and a ton of red tape. Any suggestions? — BANKING ON YOUR HELP Deer Banking: Considering wtiat'sat stake, banks usually ^e very careful when han dling new accounts. After all, they need your money to nreke money. I’ve used their free service be fore and, tielieve me, they c»i help. Call them toll-free during regular business hours at 1-800-424-5488.1 hope you get tl^^answers you’re looking for and, when you do, con tact your banker again.
