MRA is Ready ~Are You? by Beth Kennedy Contributing reporter On September seventh Dalinda Dunn, the Meredith Recreation Association Presicient, called the Retreat for the fall semester to oreler with enthusiasm. Da linda had a knowledge that this was going to t)e an eventful and productive weekend. The MRA committee was there with the exception of Aileen Jen- kinsand Mary Kath^n Fox. Beth Cun ningham, MRA Treasurer, read the divi sions of MRA funds for the year 1985- 86. After the alotment of funds, Dalinda began telling the committee about three important leadership ideas. First, for the committee members to have a positive image about all of the organ izations on campus; the second thing is to t)e well-informed about the activi ties of other organizations, ar>d the third thing do not get too involved so that one gets burned out!! Rhoda Sowers, the MRA advisor, expressed her wcitement about the 1985^ year because of the organization MRA has slX)wn. Paula Williamson, Intramurals Advisor, had three words about intra murals program. GROW due to the tre mendous growth, GIVE due to the gift of the tinrte the people pui into it, and GO do to the fact that intramurals is going to many good people. Then Comhuskin was the subject to great discussion. Dalinda separated the wfK>le committee Into seven subconfv mlttees to make the event run smootfv ly. Themes for the overall Comhuskin were discussed, ar>d one was decided upon, but It will remain a mystery until a week before the big night. A new chair has been added to the committee — the Outir>g Club. Tfte Outing Club has been established to get trips like camping. This new chair and club is going to great places. The Retreat was extremely successful. MRA had fun as usual, but planned for the whole campus to have fun In the year 1965-86.
