Also, SGA is planning on having a new leader work shop after campus and class elections like last year. Hope Proctor, chairperson of the Elections Board, encourages students to start planning for campus and class elections which will be held March 13-21. December 6,1988 Self-Study Underway by Mary Moore The 1989 year will mark the year for Meredith's reaccreditation by the Sou thern Association's Commission of Col leges and Schools. Every ten years all colleges are to examine different aspects of the col lege community and make any changes to meet the commission's standards. These standards are outlined in the booklet Criteria for Accreditation. In February several committees were formed for the self-study of Meredith. Areas now being studied by the self- study committees include effectiveness, faculty, the library, financial and physi cal resources. These committees are studying any problems within the col lege. They will then work on improving these problems and make a final report to the commission. The main purpose of the study is to take the input of the college community and use itto improve the college as a whole. Directing the self-study on campus is Dr. Susan Gilbert. Dr. Reginald Shiflett Is the chairman of the Steering Commit tee. Student representatives are Casey Bass Bunch, Amanda Brooks and Ame lia Stinson. r.KRLYLE CAMPBELL LIBRARY MEREDITH COLLEGE
