On Monday, August 28, President Weems and Meredith faculty members opened up the year with a game of “Trivium Pursuit.” Trivium (the divisions of the liberal arts) Pursuit was a game like Trivial Pursuit with a twist. The red team, senior Tracy Sternberg and sophomore Paige Bunter, and the blue team, junior Nan Smith and freshman Blaire Jones, competed against each other in a batde of wits. Before the game, President Weems pointed out that winners are those ^ who retain and understand what they learn. But these contestants had a little help from some experts — Napoleon, Algebar, Karl Marx, Aristotle, and Moses. Dr. Frank Grubbs, as Thomas Jefferson, claimed that John F. Kennedy and Mick Jagger had both attended Harvard, when the correct answer was the London School of Economics. Other experts, how ever, were more helpful.
