Photos by Jayne Potter. On August 17, the long and lazy days of summer were drawn to a close as the first day of freshman orientation began. After hours of unpacking, meetings with student and faculty advisors, and becoming acquainted with roommates and hallmates, students bid their parents farewell and began a six-day orien tation filled widi an exciting intro duction to Meredith College and to the rest of their lives. The next few days were filled with placement tests, hall meetings, picnics, games and time to meet new friends. “Although orientation was long, it was a very informative time with lots of information on the different services such as Cam-Tel and Ca- blevision,” said freshman Mandy Dill. . “Some of the programs such as Serendipity and Kalaidescope were interesting and were helpful in let ting you decide which classes to Taking a break from unpacking. take and were also presented in an interesting way,” said freshman Sala Clark.
