According to junior Sara Meador, the dance was a “big timeBeft>re the dance, Meredith students dined at a variety of Raleigh res- taunmts, including the Angus Bam, Est! Est! Est!, and the Butcher Block. Other students chose to order pizza or eat subs in their hotel rooms. Whole floors of the Radisson Hotel in downtown Raleigh were ovt^lowing with festive Meredith students and their handsome dates; In fact, the dance and the following celebrations at the Radisst>n were such hits that the Raleigh City Police paid visits to several floors! Sounds Unlimited pmvided the music for the dance; the DJ. played a range of tunes that included every musical taste. Selections included Clint Black, AC/DC, Jesus Jones, and the Righteous Brothers. The dance floor was packed with students enjoying the upbeat, danceable music that was perfectly suited tor the gala event. Juniors Penny Kiser and Jodi McCann, however, stated they enjoyed the dance but questioned the steep prices tor tickets and T- shirts. Without a doubt, Meredith students dis played their t^hion sense in the beautiful dresses they wore lo the dance. Velvet dresses in a wide variety of colors and styles were most popular, followed closely by strapless black cocktail dresses and frocks adorned with colortiil sequins.
