March 13,1992 page six I Club Notes Crowley's Courtyard Restaurant Offers Variety, Reasonable Prices by Carolyn Brakebill Crowley’s Courtyard Restaurant is located at Old Raleigh Village Shoppes on Edwards Mill Road. There is seldom more than a fifteen- minute wait for seating. The check ered tablecloths of both red and white and black and white give the dining room a casual atmosphere. The soft candlelight on each table or booth adds a touch of intimacy and el egance to the room. The acoustics in the area are very good. There are no intruding conversations from other tables. Even through there is a bar with live entertainment on weekends, excessive noise is not a problem. The menu consists of soups, sal ads, appetizers, seafood dishes, steaks, specialties, sandwiches, and dessert selections. The specialty bl Images of Women menu includes pasta, chicken, lasa- gna and ribs. The “Not So Cajun” dishes are my favorite, and I would recommend these to anyone with a taste for a little spice. Tliese dishes are cajun-seasoned shrimp and cajun> seasoned strips of chicken. Each is served over your choice of rice, fettuccine, or angel hair pasta with a cajun cream sauce. There is also a deliciouscombinationdishofshrimp, scallops, broccoli, carrots, and fettuccine tossed in a cajun alfredo sauce. The prices are moderate. The range for entrees is $7.95 to $14.95. Other choices are even less expensive. In addition, Crowley’s offers a frequent dinner card to each diner. Presenting this card to the wait person while dining entitles the diner to the fol lowing discounts: Sunday $2.00 off price of any steak (except sirloin). Monday Buy one entree, get a second of equal or less value for half price. Tuesday Free kid’s meal with purchase of an entree. Wednesday Free dessert with purchase of an entree. Thursday Buy one appetizer and get a second of equal or less value for half price. Having eaten at this restaurant many times and always having received prompt and courteous service, I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Each granddaughter picked several faculty and staff and delivered a spe cial Valentine’s Day gift to them. Everyone was very grateful for the thoughtftilness of the granddaughters, especially Dm Hinsley who wanted to express her thanks to all the grand daughters. We understand that Dm will soon be a Grandmother herself soon. Congratulations! The Granddaughter’s Club went out to dinner at the Side Street Cafe on Feb. 17. An enjoyable lime was had by all, and a surprise dessert was served by Jodi Mitchiner, Vice-President of the Granddaughter’s Club. Thanks, Jodi!
