Freshmen elections speeches were
held in Jones Auditorium Monday.
There was a fair amount of participa
tion from the people running for of
fice; however, the interest in student
government on the part of the student
body was not present. Perhaps attend
ing the elections speeches should be a
requirement so that people will be
aware of issues before they vote.
Ashley Cooper, Elections Board
Chair, said, “There was a good voter
turnout, but I was displeased with the
number of freshmen who ran for of
fice.”
For the office of president five
students gave enthusiastic speeches
about change, involvement and unity.

thusiasm to make this year count for
the feshmen.
“Stepinto success and vote forthe
cool dame with the unique name,”

some friends entertained us with an
Addams family rendition about her
personality and dedication.
