Meredith Entertainment Asso-
ciadon gathered the Meredith women
to the courtyard to enjoy a Hawaiian
evening of food and dance last
Wednesday.
The students enjoyed the fine
cuisine of Hawaiian chicken, ribs,
pasta, and fruit, while being enter
tained by the Chapel Hill band The
Rabbergasters. The students jammed
and munched, listening to everything
fi’om beach music to modern hip hop.
By the loud singing that could be
heard throughout the campus, the
Flabbergasters will more than likely
be welcomed back.
Katherine Davis an MEA Com
mittee chair said, “The Luau was
successful. We listened to good
music, ate good food, and had a good
time!” The members of MEA were
glad to see the turnout.
Jennifer Pevehouse, also an MEA
chair, claims, ‘There were tons of
students.”
But what is a Luau without a
limbo contest?The delicious ribs did
not slow the Meredith women down
whentestingoutthelimbostick. They
strutted their saiff and competed to
see just how low they could go.
It is possible to have lasting
memories of the eventftil evening.
Be sure to stop by the Balloon Gal
lery and put a picture order in. This
is one campus event you will not
want to forget.
If you enjoyed the Hawaiian
evening and are looking forward to
more MEA sponsored events, they
are sponsoring a Halloween Mixer in
Weatherspoon Gym on October 28.
So. put down those limbo sticks and
get ready to dance!
