October 27,1993 Campus News Sophomores enjoy Mother/Daughter Tea State by Claricy Lucas The sophomore class held a Mother/Daughter tea on Saturday at the ami^theater that included a touching program honoring the mothers and a time for refreshments and mingling for the students and their mothers or special guests. “It was a special time for mothers and daugh ters to show their sq^>reciation for one another," said Mother/Daughter Co-chair Erin May. The tea began with a greeting firom Allison Carroll, the sophomore class president, which was followed by a prayer from Sc^omore Vice Presi dent Mary Pulley. Holley Cobb, Mother/Daughter co-chair, then introduced the guest speaker Sandra Gilmore, who is actively involved in Crossroads Fellowship Church of Raleigh and also the mother of three daughters. Through her colorful examirfes of life with three small girls, she urged the mothers to always sui^rt their^daughters is both good and bad times and urged daughters to cherish every moment they have shared with their moQiers. "“My mother and I could relate to everything ^e said about her daughters,” said Jan Yow.
