Rebecca Highsmith began her job Jan. 7 as Assistant Director for Career Services working with cooperative education. Highsmith will be in charge of or ganizing and managing the Cooperaf tive Education program, instructing Career Planning seminars, executing training woricshops, and meeting with students on career plannii^ and em ployment issues. it is an exciting opportunity to brii^ businesses andstudentsK)ge^er, so students can learn about careers from a real worid perspective,” said Highsmith. While at Meredith, she hopes to see agrowth in the number of students who participate in the cooperative program ‘It is a good way to leain about different careers and for stu dents to open doors in careers they are interested in,” said Highsmith. Before coming to Meredith, Highsmith worked at Hon College as the director of Career Planning since 1989. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North pholoby Laura Davenport Rebecca Highsmith is the Assistant Director for Career Services.
