November 11,1998 MiBredith Herald Campus Extras Team chosen for 1998 season Amber Butler staff Reporter The Meredith basket ball team is looking for ward to another success ful season. Last year the team topped off the sea son with a 21-2 record. The team welcomes the return of four strong seniors, including Mamie McKinny, a great post player and strong leader; Jamie Claypool, with keen defensive skills; Aedrin Murray, a speedy point guard and Wendy Cooper, a great shooter. The team also welcomes transfer stu dent Leslie Roberts to the team as a solid post player. The team also looks forward to the return of juniors Beth Goodale and Julie Schramm. Goodale brings to the team a 63 percent field goal percentage along with excellent post play ing skills. Schramm will be welcomed for her remarkable 3 point shots. Returning sophomores include Holly Lowman, Leigh Akers and Beth Gore, who is returning after her abscence from a knee injury. The new freshman players include Erin Cross and Ginger Moore. Goodale stated that she “looks forward to anoth er very successful year for the team. A reminder about parking regulations Mke Hoke Campus PoUce Chief Parking Regulations are enforced'seven days per week, twenty-four hours per day. As stated in the 1998-W Meredith College Student Handbook, the following practices are specifi cally prohibited; • Parking on the front drive (exception: com muter students may park on the front drive). • Double parking. • Parking on lawns, landscaped areas, side walks or other areas not set aside for parking. • Parking in such a manner as to block traffic, parked vehicles or road ways. • Parking in fire lanes, loading areas, emergency areas marked as NO PARKING ZONES, including areas marked with diagonal yellow lines. • Parking in an area designated for registration decals other than the one displayed (for example, students in faculty spaces or underclass’ parking in senior spaces). • Parking in visitors’ area with a current Meredith decal. • Parking an unregis tered vehicle anywhere on the Meredith campus. • Parking in a space reserved for residence directors and residence life staff. • Residents parking in commuter spaces before 5 p.m. Friday or after 7 a.m. Monday. No warning tickets are given. Parking fines are $25; fines for parking in handi capped and fire lanes are $50. Auto-boot and towing fines are $50. Unregistered cars will be auto-booted and will not be released until all fines are paid. (An auto-boot is a device that clamps to the wheel of a car. Attempts to move a car with an auto-boot will result in serious damage to the car) Campus parking privileges may be revoked in cases where a student repeatedly parks in reserved spaces. Students may park in reserved spaces for a maximum of fifteen minutes to load or unload personal belongings. Four-way flashers must be left on. Meredith College does not assume responsibility for any vehicle parked on campus.
