Meredith Herafd March 8, 2000 Campus Extras SPRING BREAK continued from page one on vacation. She said of spring break, “It will give me a chance to relax, forget about my worries and have fun with my friends." Juniors Lori Neff and Court ney Mashbum are looking for ward to spring break because they will be traveling to Can- cun, Mexico. Neff said that she and Mash bum plan to go scuba diving, snorkeling and shopping, and they plan to work on their tan. Neff said that she and Mash- burn will be participating in several hotel activities, each of which is a part of the all-inclu sive package they received from a travel agent in the Raleigh area. This package includes the hotel room, meals, snacks, theme dinners at the hotel and various other activities. Neff added that the travel agent puts together packages for local college students. Neff and Mashburn -will leave for Cancun on Mar. II for a five- night vacation. '' Although many students will be heading for warm weather, juniors Sara Ellen Carwile and Kelli Parrish will be packing their skis. Carwile noted that during their four-day trip to Snow- shoe, W.Va., she hopes to do a lot of skiing depending on the weather. Carwile also said that this win be the first Spring Break trip she has taken, and she said that she plans to “relax and cel ebrate being out of school.” Progress reports alert students a Stephanib Jordan Sla« Writer Progress Reports for stu dents working on either a ‘D’ or an ‘F' level in any —— class go out on Friday, Mar. 10 — just in time for students to go on spring break. Two copies of the report are sent out, one to the student and one to her advisor. “The reports are to alert you that you’re not doing as well as ‘ you may have thought you were,” said a worker in the Office of the Registrar. Some professors even cite specific reasons for poor include ways that students can try to improve on upcoming assignments. Both the professor and the members of the Office of the Progress Reports are meant to help students. We hope they do. -Registrar’s Office Registrar hope that students will take this information and go to the Career Center or the Learning Center. Both of these places offer classes, one-on- one time and literature on ways to improve study skills, ways to manage time, and even extra help in some areas. “Progress Reports are meant to help students.
