Meredith Herald 6^ Sophomore Calherine Jack son eats lunch in Belk Din ing Hall while watching the latest news report on the attack at the Pentagon on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001- Televisions were set up across campus to allow the entire Meredith community to watch the news develop. Senior Traci Day reminds students who pass her door to pray for the United States and its leader throughout a day in which difficult decisions must be made. September 19, 2001 The Week o ' ■ !!, Center: The flag in front of Johnson Hall flies at half-mast to honor a grieving nation. Middle Center: Junior Ashley Dews reads statements written by Meredith students in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington,D.C. Bottom Center; A Meredith student displays the Americam flag in the back window of her car to show her patriotism. The parking lot was full of cars displaying flags in back windows or flying them from antennaes.
