Her experience at Meredith

help her make a decision on
her next step.
"I plan on earning my Mas

Ministry- I am also consider
ing the idea of getting my
Ph.D. in Church Hislory at
some point in the far future.”
said Parker. She has also
thought about serving a year
abroad to teach English
somewhere in Eastern Europe.
For now, however, Parker is
focusing on graduation.
“As 1 lK)k at graduation, it
truly is a bitter-sweet time,"
she said.
She is pleased with the time
she has spent at Meredith. “1
feel I have taken full
advantage of all Meredith has
to offer and have used my time
to grow as a p>erson in so many
areas.”
Parker said that her
experiences at Meredith have

abroad was the most valuable
part of her college education.
‘Through this experience. I
know I can go anywhere and
do anything, and the world is
my playground, and it is just
waiting to be explored.” she
said.
This summer Parker will
serve as a counselor for the
Laurel Ridge Moravian Camp
in the North Carolina

She also applied for a trip to
Switzerland in August or
September, but she is still
waiting to hear if she received
the position.

Raleigh beginning next Fall,
Her long-term goals
involved more school and pos

English.
Parker had two internships
while at Meredith. In January
and February of 2001. she
interned at the North Carolina

there, she organized records
and corresponded with
records’ donors.
Her second internship was
at fixploris Museum in
downtown Raleigh.
Parker also worked on
assembling an awards entry
for the opening of the IMAX
Theatre at Exploris.
"As I lot)k at graduation,"
said Parker, "I am excited
about all the possibilities that
await me. but it is somewhat
scary to not know exactly
what they will be." She said
that while she is excited to be
finished with schcK)l. she is
sad to leave a place she has
called home for the past four
years."
