It is proposed, accord ing to Pitts, that this requirement supplement the general education require ments for Meredith College. Pitts said there will be some new courses added to the catalog for this minor if it is approved. The pro posed minor will consist of four required courses that will comprise 12 credit hours. In addition to these required courses, students will be able to choose from a list of electives which will comprise six hours. Pitts added that four classes already in the course catalog could apply to the new minor. Two of the proposed required courses would be new courses for the College. The proposal also includes a directed study course designed for either sophomores or juniors. Pitts added that the draft may include further courses in the areas of histoiy and religion, but the details have not been worked out. .
