There is good news for
those who are hearing and
vis\ially impaired and wish

benefit fix>m going to the

The organization's motto

day relevence.
>\^ith admission into this
exhibit being free, this
might be the best bai^ain in
town. The artifacts are
unprecedented in their
sheer number, but also in
their importance to the
actual events of the exhibit.
I have never seen an exhib
it with this many critical
pieces or an exhibh that
really teaches about the
importance of its subject as
site listing other organiza
tions that use sign language
interpretation.
ALDs are narration
devices that people may
use at no extra cost to
enhance their experience at
the theater or museum.
Theaters such as Raleigh
Little Theatre, Broadway
Series Soudi and Theatre in
the Park are just a fewin
the area that offer ALDs
for a select number of per
formances and showings.
A new program spon
sored by Arts Access is the
"Try It" program. The pro
gram includes a free ticket
for a person with a disabili
ty and a guest for a cultural
arts event in the Raleigh
well as Lindbei^ does. It
is a must see.
The exhibit was pro
duced by the Missouri
Historical
Society, St.
Louis,
Missouri,
and is sponsored by the
Boeing-McDonnell
Foundation and Edward
Jones.
It runs until February I,
2004 and is open seven
days a week.

as Carmike Cinema IS,
PlayMakers Repertory
Company and Theatre in
the Park for select shows.
Fred Brack, vice presi

for Arts Access, said,
17 at 7 p.m.. Reeve

at the North Carolina
Museum of History. Reeve

"[People] don't know about
our services so we’re trying
to get the word out."
Look for the Audio
Description and sign lan

ums and theaters to fmd out
if they offer these services.
Those interested in the
services may also refer to
the web site at www.artsac-
