CiCy Suds: Style resolutions for 2004 Our fashion expert gives you the iatest news CICELY CLARK Staff Writer Every chic Meredith maven must put down her jelly handbag, get ofFher cell phone with her "honey- bunny", pour a creamy cup of delicious latte and enjoy this fashion forecast of style resolutions for 2004. I researched my brains out over the holiday break, watched some select style celebrities (a.k.a. Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Renee Z), read a few fashion bibles (a.k.a. Vogue, Lucky, InStyle, WWD), and got baptized in the spirit and glory of fashion and fun. Hallelujah, 2004 is here! Spring 2004 fashion prom ises the best and brightest of "don't miss" shapes in "can’t miss" colors. Every fashionista worth her Prada, Gucci, and platinum must recognize and resolve to set these new and excit ing trends. "Do-it-yourself person alization on everything from home decor to tees for your playful pup is moving away from just initials into more playful monogram- ming, like your own offi cial logo. Wear this trend well by enlisting the help of a great embroidery girl friend's help. In spring 2004, resolve to incorporate more crayola color. Bright orange, neon green, and hot pink will explode on the scene in the next few months with a vixen's vengeance. The accessories market will be flooded with a ton of options, so it will be easy to instantly insert these goodies into your wardrobe. Keep carrying those wristlets and functional gadget accessories. After all, you’re a^tyle savvy Meredith girl living in a high-tech digital world. More "must have" items include: bulls eye hoop earrings, vintage pendants. Pucci-inspired print scarves on handbags, detailed capri hosiery and oversized sun glasses. With any style resolu tions list, remind yourself to stop encoiuaging certain trends frx)m 2003 that will make your 2004 wardrobe seem dated. In 2004 resolve to stop wearing those oversized chandelier earrings. I believe the trend has run its course and has been heavily exploited. The wear, tear and gravity on the ears are all signs that this trend will not have staying power. Also, please stop wear ing trucker hats. Ten four, this style of hat is over and out. The hat of choice for Spring 2004 has a more curled cowboy design. I hated to see 2003 go, after all, it launched the "write on" movement (a.k.a. monogramming), cheapskate chic, new celebrity labels by Eve and Gwen Stefani and all of the Audrey Hepbum/Jackie O- inspired fall collections were divine. All of the excitement of last year's fashion just gets me buzzed about all the glitz, glamour and glitterati that every fashionista hopes 2004 will bring.
