An Adventure Through Wonderland
Meredith Faculty Rocks the House ft)r Three N^ts of Shows
DAPHNE LAUREN
RENEE COMBS
Staff Writer
The faculty and staff pro
duction of Lewis Carroll's
Alice In Wonderland was
one of the best events that
our college generation has
ever experienced. This
Meredith tradition was
worth the 4-year wait.
The faculty and staff
were able to transport the
audience of students into
Lewis Carroll's bizarre
world. However, they also
added a few things Alice
would have never dreamed
of. From the Vera Bradley
fairies to Cheshire Cat,
every cast member added a
little bit of his or her own
Meredith style. This was a
wonderland that seemed to
be visited for the first time.
Alice has been a tradition
at Meredith College since
1924. It was performed this
past Thursday, February 5
through Saturday, February
7 for the students, faculty
and alumni. This produc
tion marked the 80th
anniversary of the play.
Half the fun of this pro
duction was trying to spot
your favorite professors
through the make up and
costumes! Dr. Huber sur
prised the audience as he
hopped across the stage as
the White Rabbit and Dr.
Colby journeyed through
wonderland as the part of
Alice.
Everyone was blown
away to see the cards as
they danced to Outkast's
"Hey Ya"
One of the
best moves
of the night
was when
one of the
Lobsters
imitated
Janet
Jackson’s
infamous

perform
ance.
Almost
every staff member seemed
to be present on stage. Even
a few family members
gained a role in this produc
tion, such as the knight's
squire, played by Dr.
Colby’s son.. It appeared
that many of the faculty’s
children might have had
their toy boxes raided since
the Flowers had every sort
of toy imaginable on stage
with them, while they
silently expressed them
selves throughout the play.
This play seemed like the

Meredith Q)lk^ Honor G)undl
Increases Awareness of Its Polky & Procedures
DEAN ANN GLEASON
& JESSICA HAMMIEL
Contributing Writers
The Honor Code is a long-
cherished tradition at Meredith
College. It is part of the educa
tional process because it encour
ages a student to accept personal
responsibility for her actions and
to abide by the standards set by
her peers to maintain an atmos
phere of trust and honor.
In an effort to inform the
Meredith community about the
cases that have been heard by
Honor Council this semester,
violations and sanctions from
recent cases are published in the
Meredith Herald.
The purpose of publishing the
outcomes of cases is to increase
the understanding and awareness
of the Honor System and the
range of sanctions that are given
for specific violations of the
Meredith College Honor Code.
For more information on Honor
Code sanctions and how the
Honor System works, please refer
to pages 101-105 in your student
handbook or talk with your class
Honor Council representative.
Want to learn more about what
happens during an Honor Council
hearing? Come to a mock hear
ing during Honor and Integrity
Week on Monday, February 23 at
8:00 p.m. in the Chapel Common
Room.
