The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. Following the reading and approval of the min utes from the September 9 meeting, each mem ber gave updates on the organizations they chair. One major topic of dis cussion is the Centennial of SGA, which celebrates the 100th year of the association. The group would like to compile a list of past SGA presi dents and members for historical records. Online voting was on the agenda as a dis cussion in old business. The campus technology committee is expected to make a formal decision next week. The discussion of new business included an update from Jasmine Rose on the Vision 2K10 project, of which Dr. Maureen Hartford is Chair. Rose dis cussed the vision for the Meredith Community in the year 2010. Rose said that so far, the ideas that the group has are from discussions held during the '03-'04 school year. Currently, the commit tee is gathering groups of faculty and staff to hear their input on the project. Eventually, according to Rose, the idea is for everyone who is a part of the Meredith Community to voice ideas and visions for the future of the college. As of yet, the group has not sought student input. Rose said, however, that the visions of students are important to the project and will be the focus of discussions this semester. The last item on the agenda was important announcements, which included the Open Day for high school seniors that was held Sept. 17 at 8:15 a.m.'in Johnson Hall; Family Day which is held on Saturday Sept. 25; and the upcom ing events with Anne Garrells on Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Cate Center and 6:30 p.m. in the amphitheater.
