Norman, the director of bicycle and pedestrian trans portation for the North Caro lina DOT, said Wednesday that the “NC DOT and the City of Raleigh are working together to provide a paved trail from Hillsborough Street to Umstead State Park.” The new section of the trail, which runs through Meredith’s campus, begins at the comer of Faircloth and Hillsborough Streets. The trail goes under Wade. Ave nue through a tunnel on cam pus, and then goes over 1-440 and onto museum property.
