CAMPUS NEWS April 27,2005 4 CONTINUED FROM PAGEl Coffeehouses, no other has drawn so many students out of their rooms on a Sat urday night. As always, the Coffeehouse was subjected to amateur comedy high- jinx. Terrin Lawrence said it perfectly: “The perfor mances get better, but the jokes get worse,” That was the last Cof feehouse of this academic year, but there will be more to come in 2005-2006, We all hope for a return visit from Fargo. Thanks to all who attended, and special thanks to our professors for providing us with some of the best entertainment Mer edith has ever seen! If you see them in the hall, express to them my gratimde. They made my weekend, and the weekend of so many others at Meredith. Meredith Dance Theatre performs BROOKE CORMACK Contributing Writer On Friday April 22nd, 2005,1 had the pleasure of watching the Meredith Dance Theatre perform in the Jones Audi torium. There were 8 dances all together and the whole show lasted about an hour and a half The show started on a very touching note with a performance dedicated to Katie Tart’s grandmother, Dr. Christine McRee. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw the graceful and power ful moves of the dancers. It became apparent early on in the show that the ladies had worked hard on becoming a team and working together. If anyone has worked in a group before, than you know how hard it is to have ev erything run smoothly. As I watched the ladies perform, I was in awe of how dedi cated these ladies were. The costumes that the ladies wore ranged from elegant neutrals such as ivory and beige to bright reds, rich, powerfiil blues and calming purples. The costumes accented the graceful and powerful moves of the dances while the mu sic provided a subtle back drop. There were 18 young ladies who danced and all have some kind of dance background.
