CAMPUS NEWS FetminUm 2 ' Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue to Speak at Meredith College Commencement Home Basketball Games MELYSSA ALLEN Media Relations Meredith College, Ra leigh, N.C. — North Caro lina Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue will speak at Meredith College’s spring commencement on Sunday, May 14. Exercises will be gin at 10 a.m. in Mclver Amphitheater. A former public school teacher and former director of geriatrics at a community hospital Perdue was elected North Carolina ’s Lieuten ant Governor in 2000. Lieu tenant Governor Perdue serves as President of the North Carolina Senate. She also serves on numerous key state boards that help shape state policies in economic developmea^; health care, www.transylvaniademocrats.org education, rural develop ment, technology and other governmental affairs. Prior to her election as Lieutenant Governor, Perdue served in the North Carolina House of Representatives for two terms and the North Car olina Senate for five terms.
