The complex is home to many student essentials, like Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, tanning beds, and caffeine! In the Royal complex you’ll find the infamous Royal Bean, where many Meredith students hang out on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. Its low key setting is the perfect place to hang out with friends or even hit the books. It also has fabulous cappuccinos and sweet treats. Next to the Royal Bean one can find the Brickhouse, a recently opened sports bar. The Brickhouse has massive TVs lining the walls and is a great place to watch the game with your friends. They even offer continual, special discounts for Meredith students and karaoke nights and special events! Further down Hillsborough Street are plenty more shops, restau rants, and entertainment options for students. Reader’s Corner and Nice Price offer used books at 50% off the sticker price, or the Breweiy features many local and touring bands eveiy night of the week. Looking for an inexpensive meal? Take your pick! Hillsborough is stocked with fast food restaurants such as Burger King, Arby’s, Snoopy’s, and Zaxbys. It is also home to more inexpensive local joints like Sub-Conscious, Gumby’s (for the best pizza and Pokey stix). Golden Dragon, Photo courtesy of Google Maps El Rodeo, and I Heart New York Pizza. You also head this direction to get to Carter-Finley, where all the action happens on days when the NC State football team plays at home.
