THE SHORBLJNE I NOTICE I t THE TOWN HALL WILL NOT VALIDATE ANY BLUE REENTRY PASSES AFTER | I CONDITION 1 (EVACUATION) HAS BEEN DECLARED. HAVE YOUR BLUE PASS | t VALIDATED NOWI f &■ ^ Own A Boat, Trailer? Closure Scheduled for June 1 The cleared area behind Town Hall that is being utilized for boat trailer parking is the septic system for the Town Hall. The responsibility for monitoring the septic system belongs to the Carteret County Environmental Health Division. After a recent inspection of the Town's septic system, the Town was advised of the discrepancies that had to be corrected to bring the system up to standards. The discrepancy that concerns several Town residents is driving on or parking of any type of vehicle on the septic system is not allowed. This requires all boat trailers/other vehicles, being parked there now, must be removed. Because this will cause some inconvenience, a grace period of approximately three months has been granted to allow time for those persons to relocate their vehicles. Once a vehicle is removed, for any reason, it will not be allowed to reenter the present parking area. A gate with a lock will be installed June 1. Your cooperation is appreciated. Announcements from Mayor Kanyha 1. Carl Daniel, VP of Carolina Water Service, indicated according to the EPA and Safe Drinking Water Act, a scheduling of lead and copper testing will begin July, 1993. A questionnaire to 276 Pine Knoll Shores customers will be sent asking the randomly selected households to participate in this program. 2. Art Browne, resident, has given a proposal to the Town to produce a brochure summarizing the history of the Town for distribution to new and potential residents. Should this be okayed Art will be looking for persons to help organize this project. If you are interested please call Town Hall. From Commissioner Blanchard Roy Brownlow, having met all the requirements of Chief Building Inspector, has been promoted to that position effective April 1, 1993 All Solicitors must register at Town Hall, hours to solicit, Postmaster Mike Whitford has suggested that mailboxes be located 8 to 12 inches from the blacktop road to help save new sod and grass. *******:*c4c*****************;**4t* Ancient Mariners Back in October, 1992, when we commenced our 92-93 bowling season, April seemed a long way off. Well, as of this date there are only two sessions left! Then our season will be history. Wally Williams' team has been in first place for much of the year and I now predict that no team will catch his. Second and third place finishes are too close to call. They probably will not be decided until our last bowling date, April 5th. Since our last report, both the men and ladies continue to set new highs: Wally Williams 209, Les Scarpone 207, Chuck Zaminer 206, and Frank Herbst 205. For the fair sex: Millie Herbst 200, Faye Szypulski 193 and Edna Kent 187. To put the finishing touches on our season we will all celebrate April 20 at the Ramada Inn with a gourmet dinner starting at 6 PM. It's been a real good season! Fred Korff
