All who had the chance to play oh the climate-controlled, rubberized indoor courts that day are definitely suffering from HOP envy. Homeowners and HOAs were given the opportunity to purchase larger native tree species at a fraction of their retail price, which included planting assistance by ProGreen Turf & Landscape. In early March, three tractor trailer loads of trees arrived and were unloaded, staged and tagged for delivery to homeowners and parks. Trees were grouped according to species, which included Live Oak, Eastern Red Cedar, Wax Myrtle, Sweet Bay Magnolia and Willow Oak. Community Appearance Commission (CAC) members, town Public Services Department staffers, and resident volunteers were on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Thanks to all who helped to make this effort a huge success. m m , «. «. 4- i-'- Town staff and CAC members assist ProGreen with unloading trees in a staging area at the end of Pine Knoll Boulevard.—Photo by Susan Phillips 16 The Shoreline I April 2019 mm ifi’- smsSMWmTmm Wi Trees were grouped by species to ensure they reached the correct destination. —Photo by Susan Philiips
