August 6,11 a.m., at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church at 920 Salter Path Road in Salter Path. Classes are held on Wednesdays and are designed for anyone who has wondered about poetry, how to read it and how it relates to our lives. Four to six sessions will be dedicated to each poet. Participants will learn about all species of turtles and how common they are on our beaches—and may be able to hike to an actual nest, depending on the location of nests this year. Meet at the bathhouse. Beaufort Pirate Invasion 2019. August 9-11, throughout town and on the waterfront at Taylors Creek. Professional pirate re-enactors, villagers and merchants roam throughout town creating a historical and piratical presence for pirate enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy.
