PKS Angel Tree Project
By Jean McDanal
Your Parks and Recreation Committee (PARC) anticipates that by the time
you are reading this we will have received the information from Hope For The
Warriors regarding vetted warrior families whose children are in need of a little
bit of Christmas cheer. Beginning on November 11, there will be a display at town
hall with this family information on a spreadsheet, with a number assigned to
each Angel family.
If you wish to be a warrior s Angel, please come to town hall and select your
family. There are two duplicate forms containing the information about the
children. We ask that you complete the forms with your contact information and
put one copy in the box provided by the display This is necessary in order for us
to know who has adopted which family At the end of each day, we wilTupdate the
spreadsheet to reflect which families have been adopted.
Since Thanksgiving is late this year, we are asking that you bring your
unwrapped gifts to town hall in a bag or box that is clearly marked with your
Angel family number no later than Wednesday, November 27. We do not have
childrens last names as these families remain anonymous.
If you do not have time to shop for a family, your generous donation will be
gladly accepted. A check made payable to “Kayak for the Warriors” with “Angel
Tree Project” on the memo line can be given to Sarah Williams at town hall. These
funds will be used to purchase bikes, skateboards and bike helmets. If you wish to
mail your donation, please send to: Sarah Williams, Town of Pine Knoll Shores,
100 Municipal Circle, Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512.
If you have any questions or would like to help wrap on Friday November
29, at town haU, please contact B.J. Peter at 646-8079. The Parks and Recreation
Committee thanks you for your continued support for this holiday project.
