By Grade Bender The Pine Knoll Shores Womens Club is eager to participate in the bettering of our community in 2022. We want to make a difference. Each of the ladies involved chooses to serve social and charitable purposes, and we volunteer for activities and service projects that will help to transform, define and shape our community and the surrounding communities as well. Our monthly show of appreciation to the staff at Carteret Health Care for their dedicated service during COVID-19 continues. We assembled and later delivered bags of goodies for the Labor & Delivery and Pediatric staff. We are also thankful to the Pine Knoll Shores Fire Department for allowing us to meet in the fire station in November. We offer many activities with our book clubs. Cooks Night Out, Wine and Tapas group, raising money for a Carteret Community College scholarship. Mile of Hope (providing a fun beach weekend for children from various NC cancer wards), and supporting many deserving organizations throughout Pine Knoll Shores and the rest of Carteret County. We support organizations such as Marthas Mission, Friends of Bogue Banks Library, our Pine Knoll Shores police and fire departments. Broad Street Clinic, the Crystal Coast Autism Center, and the Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina. If you are not a member of the Pine Knoll Shores Womens Club but are inter ested in joining, we welcome any woman to join us who lives or works in Pine Knoll Shores, on Bogue Banks or in any surrounding community not served by a womens club. Our meetings are normally held on the fourth Friday at 10 a.rri., and updates or changes are posted on our Facebook page. Please join us. It is also the time when we meet with the towns department heads to assess their needs for the coming year and set the schedule for completing the FY2022-23 town budget, which must be completed and signed by July 1.
