What’s Up With PARC? By Jean McDanal Thanks to the generosity of so many of you who donated to our Kayak for the Warriors Angel Tree Fund this year, at last count over $3,300 had been collected. The money was used to purchase Walmart gift cards that were distributed to vetted warrior families by Hope For The Warriors. Over 41 children will have a Merry Christmas thanks to you. Thanks is also extended to BJ Peter for once again organizing this effort. This year’s 12th annual Turkey Trot in Pine Knoll Shores took place on Thanksgiving morning and was a huge success. We had 500 folks signed up to either run or walk with strollers and furry friends on a two-mile course. Thanks to Cheryl Smith, John Brodman and Maureen Young for doing an outstanding job in heading up this event. Online registration helped with the numbers. Coffee, hot chocolate and donuts were available following the morning’s walk/ run.
