PKA News ByAmiy Cox Congratulations to our new PKA director, Rob McClellon, selected at the January 13 monthly Board of Directors meeting. He will fill the position until June 2024. Thanks also to those who threw their hat in the ring; There are many opportunities to serve and volunteer in a variety of capacities within Pine Knoll Association (PKA). Our new sign at Ocean Park looks pretty awesome and wouldn’t even be there yet if it wasn’t for the efforts of Parks Chairman Mike Di Lauro. He persevered this through two different contractors, multiple trips to workshops, material delays, personal injury and several holidays to get us the beautiful replacement for our iconic PKA park sign. Our signs are like each of our members—unique and full of character. Since we are so pleased with this initial effort, it would only make sense to do a planned replacement of the other park signs. At the annual meeting, we plan to auction off the original Ocean Park sign. The original sign was hand carved and lasted 40 years at the entrance to Ocean Park. You must be present to bid/win, and all proceeds will go the parks budget. Get a neat piece of PKA history and support our HOA at the same time. It is time to start soliciting interest among HOA members who want to run for a three-year term for the PKA board this June. In order to run, you must be a member in good standing, able to attend monthly board meetings (second Thursdays at 6 p.m.) and the annual meeting (third Friday in June) and volun teer as needed. The deadline will be mid-March, as ballots and annual bills will be mailed out to our 714 members in April.
