PIKSCO Happenings By Ric Cox PIKSCO is excited to install a Little Free Library at Garner Park with a focus on children and young readers. There are other library boxes in the neighbor hood aimed at adult readers, but Pine Knoll Shores resident Vicki Raper and her daughter Crystal Shearin wanted a Little Library for kids. This library box is positioned near the swings and is more at kid level. Crystal has made an effort with the initial inventory to pick out books at dif ferent reading levels and has tried to keep a theme with beach, ocean, sea crea tures, etc. We are excited to see what is shared by readers in the neighborhood in the months to come. Special thanks to Beach Publications for donation of the actual little house box and Steve Raper for his talent and patience in painting. A Little Free Library is a free book sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. These little librar ies function on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, you do not need to return the same book, but try to bring some to share next time so that the little library is always available for others in your area. Anyone may contribute or take books—the more the merrier. In other news, if you have been to Hammer Park lately you may have noticed all of the showers/faucets/lines —Photo by Vicki Paper j^^yg been completely refurbished. One of our newer residents contacted PIKSCO and wanted to give back with his tal ents to this wonderful community and our HOA. David Wilson with High Tide Plumbing donated his time, material and labor to this project. If you have any plumbing needs, please call High Tide Plumbing at 252-515-2028. After working with David, I know you will not be disappointed with his work, professionalism and plumbing knowledge. PIKSCO sincerely thanks you, David. I am personally humbled by the people who want to give back and make Pine Knoll Shores what it is. We are so blessed by this community. The PIKSCO Annual Meeting is set for July 16 at 4:30 p.m. at McNeill Park. We plan to review the past year’s key accomplishments, review director reports, present the new budget and introduce new HOA board candidates and election results. We hope you can attend.
