June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; 10 a.m. Meet in the Visitor Center lobby for a leisurely hike exploring the natural side of Fort Macon. Hike will cover both trail and beach. Easy but may include stairs. Future dates: July 7, 14, 21, 28; August 4, 11, 18, 25; and September 15 Summer Concerts at Fort Macon. June 3, 6:30 p.m. Bring a folding chair and enjoy a free hour-and-a-half concert by a local band or artist inside historic Fort Macon. Food and drink are allowed, but alcohol and pets are prohibited. Featured band on June 3 is Tanglewood. This ,^will include a blank firing demonstration of the weapon. About the movie: An intimate look at the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. On June 18 at 7 p.m., “Summer of Soul (or When the Revolution Could Not be Televised)” (rated PG-13) will be presented. About the movie: Documentary about the legendary 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival that celebrated African-American music and culture and promoted Black pride and unity.
