C. 28512 IvSN liALLER RE-EIiECTED Pine KqoU Shores BogLTd of Commissioners unanimously re elected Ken Haller mayor of the tovjn and elected MAYOR; BOARD ORGANIZES V/ayne Cleveland as mayor pro-tem at its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 4» which was also the Board's organization meeting. At the same time, Mary Austin swore in Mr. Haller and Bill Dixson, our newest commissioner,and Natalie Hiltz to four - year terms on the Board. Both Mr. Haller and Mrs Hiltz were re-elected last month, while Bill Dixson was elected to his first term. He was also appointed financial officer of the board, succeeding Art Browne who chose not to run for re-election. The board then reaffirmed the appointments of Bill Uebele as chief building and electrical inspector and Art Hoyt and Kerney Smith as assistants. The board also reaffirmed the appointments of Corinne Geer as town clerk, and Connie Reese as assistant town clerk. Mr. Haller took the occasion to express the appreciation of the Board and the tovjn for the services Art Browne had rendered during his term, which he des cribed as "outstanding." The Board also presented Mr. Brome vjith a gift th^cing him for his services. HEARING FOR ZONING In spite of the inclement weather prevailing at the time, an almost full house attended the public hearing CHANGES VJ5LL ATTEI'JDED at the Town Hall on Thursday, December 6, to hear and comment on the changes to the zoning ordinance re quested by the Holiday Inn, mainly with respect to increasing the density ratio per square acre. Representing the Holidaj^ Inn were A1 Ward, of New Bern, the motel’s legal counsel, and Jim Lester, manager of the local Inii. Speaking for the to\7n was Larr^f Jerome, of the Zoning Board, vjho recited the position of the tom concerning the changes on a point-by-point basis. A1 Ward, speaking for the Holidaj.^ Inn, defended that organizations request for the changes. Citi zens of the town in attendance also v/ere given an opportunity to comment on each requested change, which they did with an appreciated eloquence.
