-5- CPR PROGRAM Instruction in CPit (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) will be offered to residents of Pine Knoll Shores in ■|0^__^APR^ three sessions April 10, 1? and k!l, it v;as announced by Ken Doremus, director of the Rescue Squad. Each session will be for four hours and will be limited to 20 persons per session. On April 10 and 1? the sessions villl run from 6 to 10 p.m., and on April 24, the session will be from 1 to 5 p.m. The charge will be 03»OO, v/hich includes a 50-page handbook of instructions. It is requested that those v;ho wish to take advan tage of this important activity sign up and pick up their booklet at least two days before each session. The groups v;ill meet at the Town Hall, v/here the sign-up and booklets will be available. Instructors v/ill be Natalie Hiltz, Rob Roy McAnaw and Ken and Irene Doremus. The techniques of CPR are one of the most important activities you can engage in, knov/ledge of v-;hich may v/ell save yours or someone else’s life. YOUR NSW Judy and Lloyd Staton live on Loblolly, across from the Curt Johnsons. Both are natives of Beaufort and NEIGHBORS graduates of Beaufort High School. Judy formerly worked as a cosmetologist, having studied at I-iichael’s Hairstyling Academy at Raleigh. Lloyd studies at ECU and v;ent through the apprentice training program before becoming an elec tronics mechanic at Cherry Point. Judy's hobb3^ is acrylic painting and pen and ink sketching. AJ.though she does not consider herself professional artist, she has exhibited and sold some of her work, loyd helps build frames for her pictures. ”^'e like anything per taining to v/ater,” they say. Lloyd is an active jogger and Judy is a Weight Watcher’s Counselor. The^/ have a daughter Johanna, v/ho vias four years old on March 15, and a 15-year-old dachshund, Abraham. Milton and Ruth McDaniel moved into their new home at 214 Salter Path Road about the middle of February. Milton, better known as "Tob^^" works for Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Records Department at Kinston. Ruth is Vice Presi dent and Manager of the Mutual Savings and Loan Association in Morehead City, She has been with the firm 19 years and with a local bank for two and half years. Their son, Lee is a junior at West Carteret High School and is particularly interested in surfing. Fluth is interested in all sports and officiates at high school basketball games and is a softball umpire with the USSSA. Their daughter, Donna is a graduate of Campbell College, and is a Physical Education Director at Casv/ell Center for the Mentally Retarded.—Olga Hedrick. GARDEN CLUB HEARS OF LANDSCAPING The March meeting of the Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club featured a slide presentation by Chris Mignier, Vocational/Agricultural Teacher at West Carteret High School. He particularly explained the advantages of understanding the basics for planning ^nd developing an attractive yard scheme. Billie Hathorne read thank you notes from three mem.bers to v/hom the club had sent "get v;ell" cards recently.
