C. 28512 Lenora Roberson - Associate Editor JulyI I9SO In order to devote more time to pursuing her studies for an advanced degree in nursing, Natalie lilltz resigned from the Board of Commissioners July 8. She has been a member of the Board since August 197^, vdth the respon sibility for the Rescue Squad and the Plre Department* She was a dedicated member of the Board and put much time and effort into the work, and her service was 6har- acterized by Mayor Cleveland and other Board members as ”a job well done.” Following the announcement of her resignation, Aubry Johnson was nominated as a successor and approved by the Board* Mr* Johnson has some 28 years of municipal service before moving to Pine Knoll Shores* Bom and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, he served as city auditor for 12 years and 16 years as city manager* He retired from that position in 1974 and was employed by Municipal Advisors, Incor porated, on a part time basis until 1979* This firm provides administrative, financial and executive search services for private industry* Aubrey and Erma Johnson reside on Cherry Court and have two daughters, one living at Nags Head, N* C*, and the other living at Portsmouth, Va. They have four grandchildren. He said, ”We looked up and down the coast of Georgia and North and South Carolina for a location that would provide easy accessibility to golf, a place to have a boat at home and a favorable climate* We found all of this at Pine Knoll Shores along with a host of friendly people.” MMII3B :~BBSgXJRCES CENTER With the Summer season in full, sway now the Marine Resources Center is host to hundi*eds of visitors ASKS FOR VOLUNTEER HELP every day and which is straining its manpower resources. Dr. Ned Smith, director of the Center, says the present staff cannot cover all the facilities adequately and is appealing for help, mainly to cover the library’- and the information/sales desk just inside the main entrance. In addition, he says, he would like to hear from volunteers who would supervise a visitor questionnaire program, which-^;he Center would like to inii:iate arid which G. W.
