FIRE DEPARTMENT Sunday, October 5 will be a big day for the
residents of Pine Knoll Shores who are all
FUN DAY OCTOBER 5 invited to take part in Fire Prevention Week
by attending the PKS Fire Department's outing
at Jungleland, sponsored by the ijadies Auxiliary of the Fire
Department, In addition to Jungle Golf, Bumper Boats, Skeet
Ball and the other facilities at Jungleland, the ladies also ' '
will provide barbecue and fish dinners. Cost of the dinners will'
be $3 for adults and $1.50 for children under school age. , :m-
This is the Ladies Auxiliary only fund-raising affair for the
year, with all proceeds from Jungleland that day being donated*to
the ladies. They in turn will use the money for the benefit of
the fire department and its members to purchase materials which
is not available from any other funding. Any equipment or mate
rials to be purchased by the Ladies Auxiliary will be approved in
advance by the town's Board of Commissioners and this material
will be town property.
Since the organization of the Fire Department and its efficient
operation has resulted in lower insurance rates for residents of
Pine Knoll Shores, it is hoped there will be a big turn out for
the affair.
ESTATE PLANNING Under the sponsorship of the Carteret Technical
College a special course on Estate Planning
SESSIONS ARE SET has been scheduled to begin on Monday, Septem
ber 22. The sessions will be held each Mon
day evening from 7 to 10 p.m., for 10 successive weeks at West
Carteret High School, room 110. The first meeting will be mainly
devoted to registration and to determine a concensus from those
attending what subjects they would like covered.
