ST AT E APP RO \Z~ES At the meeting of the Board of Commissioners Tuesday, January 6, it was announced that TOV/N S CAMA PROPOSAL the state has accepted the town's CAI'-IA Land . Use proposal, and had approved a contract with tne town. The state has further approved a sub-contract between the the town and Paul Foster, who v/ill be the chief planner for Pine Knoll Shores. Commissioner Ratliffe reported that he and Mayor Cleveland had met with State Department of Transportation officials to inspect the flooding situation which developed on Oakleaf Drive following the recent heavy rains. He said that state officials were very helpful in their discussions and suggested both short-and long-^term solutions that could be expected to alleviate any future occurance. The Commissioners also accepted a suggestion from the Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club that would name the two courts in the new Christian subdivision as East Laurel and West Myrtle. Building Inspector Bob Hope presented a report on the building activity for the last two quarters of 19^0. He said permits had been issued for four dwellings, 47 condominium units and 11 mis cellaneous structures and 1 occupancy certificate during the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, he said, permits were issued for eight dwellings, two commercial and seven miscellaneous jobs. The two commercial permits were for the extension of a waste water treatment plant in V/est Pine Knoll Shores and the new Carolina Telephone repeater building off Roosevelt Boulevard.
