Finally, Mayor Cleveland announced that a committee has been appointed to make a feasibility study of a third bridge over the canal that would connect Mimosa and iiamsey Drive. The committee will consist of John Elder, Ken Hoffmeyer and Arthur Browne. FIRE DEPAPuTMENT At a special meeting of the Pine Knoll Shores Fire Department on Monday, December 29, new ELECTS OFFICERS officers were elected. The slate will be pre sented to the Board of Commissioners this month for approval, in accordance with the Department's By-Laws and the town charter. The new officers are: Chief,Administrative-Bill Robbins and Assistant Chief, Administrative-Si Bezuyen. Captains are Bob Ames, Platoon A, and Bill Ford, Platoon B. Lieutenants are Lloyd Staton, Joe Trembeczki, Howard Lav/s and Dean Griffith, who will be in charge of the four squads. Chief Engineer will be 0. K. Foster, who had resigned as chief for personal reasons, and Assistant Chief Engineer is Ralph Masencup. John Eubanks was elected a lieutenant in their absence. George Eastland remains as Director of Traffic Control. Sassy motor ists, people that get made at them for helping, fussed at by someone not as competent in emergency rescue as they are, and the honor of going without sleep. Let's pay tribute to the men and v;omen who dedicate their lives to save the lives of others. Thousands of men and women across the state train and work hard to improve their skills, and are finally rewarded when they save that one life. Squad members face many emergency situations every year and yet they know just how to handle them. Do you know v/hy?
